Alleged Threat on Social Media | Presunta amenaza en las redes sociales
Dear Kelvyn Park Parents and Guardians
Your child’s safety is our top priority and we always want to make you aware of situations involving our school. Overnight, we were made aware that a community member reported that there was a social media post about a threat to our school. It is not known whether there was a direct mention of our school’s name because at this time, we have not received this post and the community member who made the report doesn’t have the post. The CPS Office of Safety and Security is aware and they have initiated an investigation.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have requested additional support from the Chicago Police Department.
Please know that we will always take these matters very seriously and will always take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We will keep you updated as new information becomes available.

La seguridad de su hijo es nuestra principal prioridad y siempre queremos informarle sobre las situaciones que involucran a nuestra escuela. De la noche a la mañana, nos enteramos de que un miembro de la comunidad informó que había una publicación en las redes sociales sobre una amenaza para nuestra escuela. No se sabe si hubo una mención directa del nombre de nuestra escuela porque en este momento no hemos recibido esta publicación y el miembro de la comunidad que hizo el informe no tiene la publicación. La Oficina de Seguridad y Protección de CPS está al tanto y ha iniciado una investigación.
Por precaución, hemos solicitado apoyo adicional del Departamento de Policía de Chicago.
