New Marquee! | ¡Nueva marquesina!
Good Afternoon,
At this point, you have likely seen the new marquee just outside our Main Entrance. When I started in 2019, one of the most important needs staff said they wanted addressed during my First Year Listening Tour was to become a “community hub”. More specifically, it was stated that an operational marquee was fundamental for us to better communicate with the community. Per multiple sources, the marquee before the new one had not been functional for at least 8 years. After 3 years of work, this project is finally complete and we could not be more excited!
The Symbolism of the Design: More than an additional method to communicate with parents and community members, the design is symbolic. It represents our CoRE Values: Community, Relationships, and Empowerment. It sets the stage for the value of holistic education our students receive when they are inside of our doors while drawing new families in. Like the symbolism in our logo, the structure conceptualizes stability and protection, a place to unify, respect for diverse perspectives and collaboration through diversity (different materials interacting harmoniously), and pays an homage to our impressive past (stone column to match that used in the building) while building toward the future (metal and LED sign).
Students Will Help Design Content: When it comes to content development, we are tapping into the talent of our Digital Media students. With Mr. Henriquez’s help, students will be able to view a list of messaging that needs a digital image. Students will create a design for the messages listed and then submit their designs for final approval. Once approved, the students’ digital artwork will be on display for the entire KPH Community!
Our present and future are bright at KPH. There are so many transformative things that every member of the staff does every day that directly contributes to becoming a community empowered by creativity. We are grateful to be able to work with you all. We are still waiting on landscaping, but that will come in the next few days.

En este punto, es probable que haya visto la nueva marquesina justo afuera de nuestra entrada principal. Cuando comencé en 2019, una de las necesidades más importantes que el personal dijo que quería abordar durante mi gira de escucha del primer año era convertirme en un “centro comunitario”. Más específicamente, se afirmó que una marquesina operativa era fundamental para comunicarnos mejor con la comunidad. Según múltiples fuentes, la marquesina anterior a la nueva no había funcionado durante al menos 8 años. ¡Después de 3 años de trabajo, este proyecto finalmente está completo y no podríamos estar más emocionados!
El simbolismo del diseño: más que un método adicional para comunicarse con los padres y miembros de la comunidad, el diseño es simbólico. Representa nuestros valores CoRE: comunidad, relaciones y empoderamiento. Establece el escenario para el valor de la educación holística que reciben nuestros estudiantes cuando están dentro de nuestras puertas mientras atraen a nuevas familias. Al igual que el simbolismo en nuestro logotipo, la estructura conceptualiza estabilidad y protección, un lugar para unificar, respeto por diversas perspectivas y colaboración a través de la diversidad (diferentes materiales interactuando armoniosamente) y rinde homenaje a nuestro impresionante pasado (columna de piedra a juego con la utilizada en el edificio) mientras se construye hacia el futuro (metal y letrero LED).
Los estudiantes ayudarán a diseñar contenido: cuando se trata de desarrollo de contenido, estamos aprovechando el talento de nuestros estudiantes de medios digitales. Con la ayuda del Sr. Henríquez, los estudiantes podrán ver una lista de mensajes que necesitan una imagen digital. Los estudiantes crearán un diseño para los mensajes enumerados y luego enviarán sus diseños para su aprobación final. ¡Una vez aprobada, la obra de arte digital de los estudiantes estará en exhibición para toda la comunidad de KPH!
Nuestro presente y futuro son brillantes en KPH. Hay tantas cosas transformadoras que cada miembro del personal hace todos los días que contribuyen directamente a convertirse en una comunidad empoderada por la creatividad. Estamos agradecidos de poder trabajar con todos ustedes. Todavía estamos esperando por el paisajismo, pero eso llegará en los próximos días.
